Park at Lydstep Headland car park,
walk to the right and follow a small
path until you come to a National
Trust gate, descend  the steps and
follow the path down, there is a rocky
entrance, but well worth it to view the
caverns.
Smuggler,s cave consists of two entrances, and a skyfight. It is a large sea cave about 300 feet long, with an average passage cross-section of 20 feet wide and 30 feet high. The upper end opens out into a grassy doline, steps and handrails have been provided. The beach is sandy, beautiful and captivating with a few prominent features of rocks which are covered in all different kinds of shells. There is another cave called the Droch, here an entrance 20 feet wide and 50 feet high opens out into a chamber 60 feet wide and 60 feet high.
Well worth a visit.
